I agree with you, Mecca. I haven't seen why Speaks is being talked about as an IR candidate. The 9th spot, in my option, goes to Hamilton because I just haven't seen $3M worth of production from X. Williams.

I don't know how much money is going to matter right now since they have money open, I think it could start to play in but if that matters then Jordan Lucas is gone too because why keep a 4th safety that makes 2 mill?

Doesn’t really affect the 53, but Seth Keyser said Reid mentioned trying out Erving with first team at LG in the 3rd preseason game and trying Wylie at 2nd team LT. I think he wants to see if Wylie-> Erving is a noticeable drop off, because it’s pretty likely Wylie would make a much better swing tackle than Erving.

Don’t know how I feel about that. If Fisher gets hurt, just move Wylie over and put in the next best LG. I realize you then have two backups instead of one technically, but if you’re downgrading LG for the better swing tackle already, you’re already playing with a backup as your starter, basically

I'd be on board with Fitzpatrick but I don't know exactly what he is just yet.

He might be a better FS than CB. Then again, he might be a better slot CB than a boundary CB (he played well as a slot CB last year). He seems to have the versatility that Veach/Spags both really like.

As the 11th overall pick, he'll have a more reasonable 5th year option figure to go with 3 more years on his current deal. Additionally, the Dolphins would end up absorbing the bulk of what he's owed into their cap via the accelerated signing bonus.

I mean he'd be a real nice target but he'll be pricey. I'm not even sure a 2nd would get it done. Then again, our later 2nd is what transfers so with Jimmy Grapes looking like the overrated slag everyone should've known he was, maybe our 2nd has more value.

Would I give a 2nd for Fitzpatrick? Yeah, I think I'd do that. Nice young CB with 3 years of cost control (at a low price) who can move around quite a bit as needed and who comes with a viable 5th year option pricetag as well. Would I give the 1st that the Dolphins would probably ask for? Eh...probably not.

He could potentially be a really nice addition but when all is said and done there, more will be said than done. Teams don't tend to move 1st round picks the year after very successful rookie seasons.

I think Fitzpatrick could be a really nice piece in the defense. With him, honey badger and Thornhill you’d have 3 guys that could play all over. That would be pretty versatile

On my phone, have no idea what his contract is like or if he’d be overpriced, but the Dolphins are potentially straight up cutting Kiko Alonso.

Is he too broke dick to work out a cheap player for player trade? Not worth it? We’ve got a few players on this roster who could be valuable to other teams as depth but don’t really have a place on our 53 man roster
