Snyder's Man of Steel, which rebooted the Superman franchise, has grossed north of $600 million worldwide since it hit theaters this June.

Warner Bros. is about to bring together two of its most iconic heroes: Superman and Batman will unite in a new film, the follow-up to “Man of Steel,” set for release in 2015.

According to two sources with knowledge of the movie, Warner Bros. intends to announce the news at its Comic-Con International panel Saturday morning. Said a Warner Bros. spokesperson, “We don’t comment on rumors regarding these properties.”

“Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder is expected to reunite with screenwriter David S. Goyer and star Henry Cavill for the new film. It’s unlikely Christian Bale will step back into the bat suit, as the actor has indicated publicly that he has moved on from his days as Bruce Wayne.

“Man of Steel” producer and “Dark Knight” trilogy director Christopher Nolan is expected by some to produce the project, but the exact nature of his involvement is unclear.

The move marks the culmination of years of effort on the part of Warner Bros. and DC Comics to bring their superheroes together in a similar fashion to their primary competitor Marvel, which successfully combined its superheroes into a $1.5-billion box-office hit with “The Avengers.”

In the comic world, the two heroes are teaming up in a new series, “Batman/Superman,” by writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee.

And, really, what else is anybody going to watch between now and May 6 (Civil War)? At least with regards to the people who are fans of spectacle.

I'm still going Friday or Saturday. I'll let you know what I think...
I also believe, as Fire Me Boy! has recently mentioned, that critics can't be trusted anymore.

There's a big difference in how a "critic" views a movie and how the general public view movies and I think that is more disparate than at any time in the 100 years.

A film with below average directing, clunky dialog and storytelling can still be highly entertaining with stellar VFX, the right cast and beloved characters.

Critics dismiss all of that most of the time and focus on the film making itself, making their opinion nearly irrelevant in many cases.

Gene Hackman is my favorite Lex, and why is this Lex with hair?

Hackman could read Cat in the Hat and scare the shit outta people with it

But to the point O City makes, I actually think Eisenberg will be fine in the role, havent read up enough to know for sure it will be the type of role he plays here, but he's perfect to play a diabolical young tech giant... he's done it before and it was a hit

That movie will have more competition in the summer.

This movie has very little competition until late April or early May.

Sounds like WB was wise to open it now as opposed to early May like what was originally planned

He looks more like a The Ridler type than a smug Lex Luthor

Reading the reviews, it sounds like Zack Snyder needs to go away. He always makes long movies that focus on beautiful effects with zero story to back them up. DC.... get rid of him, he's going to cost you so much money and he'll never change his style which usually sits around a 50% RT score.
Sad part is he'll do Justice League Parts One and Two.... ugh.
