But Sansa having to give Jon his balls back was a bit irksome. And it's definitely the rise of teh women everywhere. Sansa, Arya, Dany, Cercei. All the strong male characters have been killed or emasculated (literally in at least one instance). Other than Tyrion I guess.
I thought it was goddamned compelling television.

Everyone expected Jon to come back, hard, pissed off, and fighting - myself included. He came back with perspective. He's not wrong, he's been fighting since he got there and he's lost. He won a few fights, but lost more. I hadn't considered him finding clarity and objectivity in death. Which is far more likely. Yeah, the white walkers are coming, but he fired all the bullets he had and failed miserably. There isn't any way he would know of to continue to the fight.

It wasn't what I was expecting, but I'm glad they did it.

All that said, I don't think Loras knew that tidbit. Though he certainly could have, through his grandmother or sister.

I don't think the show runners made Loras a pussy. He has always been a pussy underneath.

The loss of the love of his life - Renly - paired with becoming a prisoner just brought it ought.

No way the Tyrell women told any of the Tyrell men anything about anything important. The only Tyrell man who isn't a buffoon is the one who doesn't exist in the show universe (Garlan).

The Queen of Tears is the real power of that house, just like Margaery will be (if she lives).

Dying seems to have revealed to Jon what his uncle and cousin never learned until it was too late... That life isn't black and white, and decisions can't be made entirely on codes of honor. It's taken a little of the steel out of his spine, but I suspect that will return. It's just that he has been to the void and doesn't want to rush back into it.

The pink letter was used as a plot device to force him to find his inner badass again. Overall it was well done. He obviously had tons of doubts after his brothers turned on him but Ramsay has given him the motivation to kick some ass. I just hope we get to see Ghost feasting on some Bolton flesh before it's done.

So since the preview for next week shows Baelish talking to Sansa......does that mean that he's come to offer to join armies?

The letter also had the effect of getting Tormund on board. I wouldn't have expected the Wildlings to have any interest in this nonsense, but being directly threatened seemed to do the trick.

One would assume, however in the trailers for this season he's also seen turning around slowly with someone coming behind him. His slow turn around and the look upon his face seems like he's in some trouble.

The compelling part of this season so far is how far off GoT it is, with the Starks uniting, Jon's resurrection being seen from a mile away, we've been beaten down with Stark deaths over the years so we're groomed to think that Baelish is going to betray them, or Ramsay will win somehow. I pray the showrunners make the remainder of the season a win for the Starks, they deserve it. I hope that either Ghost kills and eats Ramsay, or that Ramsay gets beheaded by Brienne's sword but it's Sansa who swings it. I don't know, wishful thinking.

I think Baelish's end game is to:
1) Marry Sansa
2) Become king of Westeros

If it's in the interest of either of those things for him to support a specific person or cause, he'll do it. So uniting the North under Sansa is good for him. It gets the Northern army all United. And ... Since the north has been so sit upon by the Lannisters, he'll have that army motivated to go south again.

He has Sweet Robin doing all of his bidding, so that army is in the bag, too (as long as none of the ruthless Vale lords get smart, and he seems to have purchased the loyalty of them).

All of his moves have been setting this up, IMO. So yeah... Bolton's gonna be the victim now, unless of course, they get Baelish's first.

Are the Sparrows and the Faith Militant a part of Littlefinger's machinations, or are they the proverbial fly in the soup?

Don't forget that Sansa is also a Tully, and the Tully's and Riverrun supported King Robb as well, so surely they will join their forces to Sansa as well.

I think after Jon and Sansa whip Ramsay, next stop needs to be basically putting a permanent end to those f***ing Freys. Go all Rains of Castamere on them and end that whole family line for good.

Then move on to the Lannisters.

They'll conquer Westeros just in time to be overrun by White Walkers. Really, smart play is to go carve out a Kingdom on another continent.
