In 2009 Detroit Lions General Manager Martin Mayhew drafted Matt Stafford. Washington just hired Martin Mayhew to be their General Manager. Maybe Washington will make a play for him. [Reply]

Yep. And the NFC East is wide open. Plus they have the weapons, offensive line and defense to be an instant contender. [Reply]

It would be a good spot. WTF already has one of the best DLs in the NFL, a good pair of RBs, a solid OL (iirc), and a couple good receiving weapons. They just lack a QB. And Stafford, if traded to WTF, would automatically become the best QB in the division as soon as he put pen to paper. Plus, he wouldn't have to worry about any other team in the NFC-E giving his team any competition over the next 2-3 years.
He'd just have to play for yet another dipstick GM/Owner. But at least he'd have Rivera. [Reply]

That'd be interesting. Tua and a 1st? They wouldn't have to give up both picks like for Watson and probably could even keep the Texans one and just send their own over. [Reply]

It’s a no brainer for Denver. You trade that pick right away for Stafford.
Drew Lock and a second (third?) for Stafford? Would Detroit even want Lock? [Reply]

While true, I don't think Miami is going to do that. They recently hired a QB coach that is very familiar with Tua. So that tells me they're committed to Tua.
