Chiefs likely will have running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire but be without Le'Veon Bell for today’s AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills, per source.
Additionally, the Chiefs will test WR Sammy Watkins pregame, but don’t sound optimistic he will play today.
#Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins suffered a calf injury yesterday, but the belief is he did not suffer a major injury, source said. He’ll likely rest next week, then have the bye. Good chance he’s back by that point.

Danna's not the kind of DE you expect to start the next season.
That's the kind of shit the Vermeil Chiefs would pull. Eric Hicks had a double digit sack year in Gunther's last season, so the Chiefs keep him as the starter the next 4 years.
You draft another guy. Doesn't have to be first round. And if Mike Danna really does turn into starter quality, you treat it as a pleasant surprise and let the depth chart sort itself out from there. [Reply]
it's not like we need him against the Bills. Give him another 2 weeks rest before the SB, the rest of the receiving group can embarrass the Bills [Reply]

Well, and at this point I'm not defending Sammy, but let's be honest: you can still run with turf toe. Cutting would be a problem, but running is possible.
You can't run if you have a torn/partially torn calf muscle. You actually need your calf muscles to run, you don't need your big toe to run.
Schrager just now saying Watkins will be a game-time decision. [Reply]

There is no indication that Watkins injury is a torn/partially torn calf injury as it was deemed minor when he initially sustained it four weeks ago.
He practiced this week on a limited basis and if he can’t go today it just further confirms the narrative that he isn’t willing to push himself to get back on the field. [Reply]
