The Chiefs have released Berry with a post-June 1 designation, a source tells me. Means the Chiefs will save around $9.5m on the cap this year and $5.5m next year.

While thankful for the great years he gave us this move had to happen. All Pro Berry is gone forever and because of that there is no way the Chiefs can afford to keep paying him like one.

Damn I just got back and heard the news. Wow. I know we all wanted it and it had to be done but... just feels so surreal. In a weird way it's like the closing of a really, really long chapter in Chiefs Football. I'm happy, but I'm also sad.
