This riff from :41 to 1:15 is one of my favorites of Eddie's, and it never gets talked about. IIRC, he played this on an actual miniature sized guitar (Les Paul?) built just for him and this song....

Could not agree more, Bowz

That sultry swagger is the exact sound a hot babe makes when she starts swishing over your way

I loved Diver Down. At the time, it seemed most of the VH fans I knew didn't really like the album much, but it was one of my favorites. Thanks for posting this, it's been a looong time since I heard that!

Mike talks about not speaking with Ed before his death.

Sad history amongst the band members. A lot of good music that didn't make its way to the world.

It wasn't between "band members", it was a decision made by the Van Halen brothers to strip him of Publishing Rights and force him to become an "Employee".

He hasn't received any royalties since 2003.

The Van Halens never liked Anthony's contribution to the band and wanted to replace him in 1980 with Billy Sheehan.

The intro to Mean Streets? That's something Eddie picked up from Billy when Talas opened for Van Halen.

The Van Halen brothers are assholes, which should have been obvious after they fired Dave then fired Sammy, then fired Mike Anthony.

Eddie was cutting bass tracks as early as Fair Warning, which continued once Eddie built the first version of his studio.

I never really liked The Van Halen band. Not even with Sammy. I did like Sammy's book about being in the band though titled "RED"

One of the best solos I have ever witnessed was Michael Anthony on a bass shaped like a Jack Daniel's bottle. He tore that thing up like nothing I have never heard out of a bass before or since.

I always thought they simply fired him to give Wolfie a spot. :-)

:-) I think that's already been established beyond a reasonable doubt. Sammy was a better solo artist though.
