I was so pleasantly surprised my Mexico City the first time I went. We are definitely conditioned to think it's nothing by a shooting gallery. And then you see huge bar and restaurant districts with young urbanites out living it up. Definitely check out La Condesa.
And the food is just insane. Look for little hole-in-the-wall places selling street tacos that seem popular, or ask a local. But sometimes the locals will think you want the fancy taco place, as they tend to take their local mindbogglingly good street tacos for granted. So factor that in. [Reply]
