Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

I shipped the Eotech back. It's weight and bulkiness were bugging me. I'll get a store credit for it and I'll buy the Trijicon MRO. The Eotech was 11.2oz and the MRO is around 6oz with a QD mount. [Reply]

A buddy of mine has apparently fallen on some hard times and needs some quick cash. He called me up today and offered me a Glock G26 (unsure of the gen) 3 mags (2 10 rds and one 32) and a laserlyte sight with 300 rds of "home defense" ammo all for $500.

Depends on the condition of the gun and how fresh the ammo is. Good hollow points will run at or close to $1/rnd, New condition. Of course, if the ammo is old then it's nothing more than plinking ammo at .20 cents a round.
Gunbroker has the G26 around $450-500 new. Sounds like a decent deal to me. [Reply]

He's not a big gun guy, so he didn't have the name of the brand off the top of his head. So it could be anything from white box hollow points to Speer gold dots. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow, the ammo is a pretty big selling point for me. [Reply]

Seems decent.
Gun alone is $400-500, sight is $75-100, 9mm plinking ammo is $0.20 per, critical defense is $0.75 per (might want to ask what it is). So, low end is $60, high end $225. [Reply]

Of those who have experience, Nikoplex or BDC? I have a Monarch 4-12 in BDC but have never shot through a Nikoplex.
I put a M-308 4-16x42 BDC 800 on my Remington. Works well. Although I have been considering going back to a Leupold VX-3i 30mm Scope (merely for distance).
One thing I noticed was that it had a slightly higher learning curve at distance. I found myself "experimenting" a little more with the windage knob than I might have expected to, but it wasn't a big deal.
The Nikon is a fine scope. If I did change it out however, I would definitely keep it for another "future" rifle. [Reply]
