We all have varying opinions about the impact of this, the numbers, etc. We will all never agree with each other. But we can all keep it civil.

Thanks!

It was a love/hate relationship... really enjoyed the break from work and getting away from the monitors for a bit, enjoyed the socializing, enjoyed the food. The $$ spent piles up though and the jeans get a bit tighter.

I've formed better habits working from home.... I had always liked the thought of working out in the middle of the day, in theory, but never did (the time to change out/into clothes, shower, travel to and from a gym, get back to work and probably still feel overheated and needing a break from your break, etc.). Working from home though, it's much easier to go for a walk/jog around the neighborhood or do a quick workout, as typically I'm much more energized to do so mid-day than first thing in the morning or right after work.
Yes I've saved alot of money for sure now. I definitely am living better as well since I typically don't go out to get food except on a Saturday or something. I have started doing walks on my lunch break as well. This definitely has been a blessing in pretty sure gas and food every week cost me $50-70. Glad to hear you are healthier and happier.

Wife's work is giving an extra PTO day for people who can prove vaccination but is more likely a ploy to out people feigning concern about their safety when asked to return to the office.

At my work, I sat in on a workforce model folding in talent pool candidates within varying workplace hybrid options. Number of days in per week, commute times, yadda, yadda, yadda. It was built on a ton of assumptions that felt skewed toward talent pools where our national hubs are located.

Our HQ and biggest office is in Los Angeles and when the question was posed if IT talent is the same in LA as it is in buttfuck Iowa why would you hire within the more expensive market and things got super awkward.

2021 shaping up to be worse than 2020.

Contra Costa County, in partnership with the California Office of Emergency services, will begin offering walk-in service to people ages 16 and older who live or work in the county at several pop-up sites in the coming weeks

They are just trying to reduce any potential gatherings, less travelling I assume even outdoors people I guess are just not following guidelines, schools going virtual as well

California's numbers are way way down. I hope it stays like this.

We're getting out of this thing here in the US thankfully, but the rest of the world is getting rocked. India is just getting ran over.

I'm guessing we blow past the death toll from 2020 in 2021 by August. We need to surge vaccines into these other countries.

Got my first dose of Pfizer on Saturday. Arm is a bit sore and I had a low grade headache most of Sunday, but no biggy.

Not sure if anyone mentioned, but Argentina (where I am from) is on full lockdown - no school, curfew @ 8pm. They are getting vaccinated with the Russian vaccine. The president just got tested positive for Covid after he took it. Its a mess there.
