Please recommend me some for the season. I'm currently fresh out ideas, sans Sinister which I'll be seeing this week.

"Constantine" is more an action film than a real horror. Better watch Nightmare on Elm Street or say Scream.

Talking about horrors with some philosophical sense I would recommend Saw (the 1st 2 films).

Started The Last Drive-in With Joe Bob Briggs last night on Shudder. They roll out a horror classic each week including intermissions with Joe Bob giving info on directors/actors and the movie itself. Pretty cool. Reminds me a bit of USA Up All Night that I grew up watching.

Anyway, the first film was Tourist Trap from '79. Kind of a pre-80s slasher pioneer. Has hot body butterface Tonya Roberts in it who some may recognize. Not a great movie by any means, but it was cool to see the foundation of a lot of slasher movie tricks that made the rounds throughout the 80s.

So far enjoying the Shudder app.

Blood Vessel on Shudder is pretty good for what it is. Some clear "The Thing" influences as well as some questionable costume work but some good character dynamics and dialogue. I enjoyed it.

Anyone seen Hereditary? Holy shit, what a great flick.

It’s a slow burn, but creepy as hell.

I watched The Dark and Wicked or whatever based on someone in this thread's recommendation. It was pretty creepy. It gave me the same type of vibe I got when I watched the Paranormal Activity flicks. It was super tense during night scenes and I couldn't wait til morning for some relief.

I've had this on my to watch list for a bit. Think I'll do so this weekend.

Watched Blood Vessel yesterday. It was post Thanksgiving meal so I nodded off a bit in the middle but it was an enjoyable flick. I mostly appreciated the depiction of vampires as ancient creatures from hell as opposed to snooty fashionistas. The movie made me want to revisit Dead Snow.

Also watched 30 Miles From Nowhere which was meh. Old college friends come back to Wisconsin for a friends funeral and shenanigans ensue. It had potential with some attempts at witty dialogue but ultimately fell flat due to a story that never really made sense and was hard to follow. Easy pass if on the fence.

Oddly enough, I also watched The Thing (2011) which is a prequel to the 1983 version. The end of this one is literally Lars chasing after the Thing-dog to the other base.

It was enjoyable enough.
