If Phoenix heat doesn't kill this fucker, we should all give up and find a new planet to live on.

Just for fun, look at the deaths from last year, 2018-2019, and even better 2017-2018 flu seasons and deaths under 50...

Interesting data points. Not a perfect study, and the recruiting process is flawed, but they coordinated it fairly well.

For all you number trackers, I've started to better understand some of the reasons that the numbers seem to be so inconsistent across sites as I try and keep up on what's happening in Colorado. I started digging yesterday when I saw the chart on the IHME site that showed Colorado had 63 deaths on April 21, which is nearly double our previous high:

So to try and figure out what was going on, I looked at our state health department's site, and found this chart, which shows 4 on the 21st.

While it's tough to decipher why there's such a huge difference, it's obvious that the CDPHE data makes a ton more sense. My guess is that IMHE is just assigning values to when they get posted online, which doesn't necessarily line up anywhere close to when the deaths actually happened.

I don't know if I have much of a point to this except to suggest that people not get too hung up on the numbers you're finding online for any individual day since they're driven by reporting periods as much as they are by how many people actually die each day.

I guess Giv of Kansas says May 3rd is doubtful because "there isn't enough testing kits".....whatever that means

I quit making posts about the packer issues, but lets just say it is every where and the list of plants running at half staff is quite lengthy. Every day a new batch of processing location rumors come out and a few days later the plants make moves that admit the issues exist.

Very little of this info is making headlines beyond the groups who stand to lose massive amounts of money soon.

I'm very interested to see what % actually test positive out of this group.

I've never been inside one of these plants, all I have to go off of is stuff I read on Facebook, (not exactly the most reliable of sources, but that's all I've got).

The accounts I've read make it sound like people are packed in there like sardines..social distancing is impossible. And when you have 3000 people in one plant - it sounds like the perfect breeding ground for the virus.

I'd be surprised if the total doesn't come out to somewhere between 300-500 infected. I might be on the low end with that guess.

Just got notice a little while ago our work is requiring us to work from home through May 31. Seems prudent.
