Nzoner's Game Room>2021: FA WR's: Corey Davis or Curtis Samuel?
Dante84 05:37 PM 02-22-2021
Nate Taylor (from The Athletic) seems to think Veach might be interested in one of these 2 in Free Agency.

So, after factoring in price tag, age and talent, who would you rather have?

Corey Davis, WR, Titans (age 26)
Spoiler!

Curtis Samuel, WR, Panthers (age 24)
Spoiler!

Nate also mentions these other players:

Lots of interesting WRs available this year, how about A Brown or AJ Green?

Aj green is somehow more broken than Sammy and Alshon. No fucking thank you. I kind of expect Marvin Jones or someone that no one is really talking about. There was no smoke around Sammy or Hitchens when that happened or HB. The only real move we had a big heads up on was Frank Clark and thats probably because it took two teams to tango.

That's one name that came to mind for me. I don't really want an expensive receiver. We just need a wr who can win some short stuff and beat man coverage. Our speed can get receivers open. Keelan Cole might also be an under the radar guy

Probably going to be a lot of disappointed people this offseason.

I expect the Chiefs to make moves that nobody expects.

Veach has always made moves 1 year ahead of time.

Allegreti, Niang and Durant are the only OL signed for the 2022 season.

Right but there's people slobbering over the thought of Trent Williams and/or multiple OL draft picks.

I’m one of them.

I think Trent Williams would be the best free agent signing this team could make this offseason.

You sign Williams and draft a good center and the OL looks nasty

Williams is probably going to get the highest FA dollar of any tackle available. Not likely he comes here.

And for the record, I'd be fine with Williams in FA and a center in the 2nd or 3rd.

But there's people that want Williams AND a 1st round OT.

That's just silly.

Unfortunately I think Williams is a pipe dream.

I’m kind of moving away from signing older players that are going to be on the decline in a year.

I look at it this way.

If we can move the combined cap space of Fisher and Schwartz to Williams, we just massively upgraded the LT spot and I have full confidence in Niang at RT.

Williams
Allegreti
Draft pick
LDT
Niang

That’s a really good OL imo.

Fisher isn't going anywhere.

That's another fantasy people are wishing for.

That’s most likely true (I’ve said as much) but there are a few things playing against him.

He needs a new deal as 2021 is the last year under contract
He just turned 30
He’s not a great OT, above average.
He’s going to be rehabbing a torn Achilles in his last year under contract.

It’s not really cut and dry they will commit to him, but I agree it’s likely they extend him to lower the cap hit...I’ve advocated for that numerous times.

I just see moving on from Fisher to Silverback as a realistic option for a team wanting to get back to the Super Bowl.

If Mahomes is almost undefeated with Fisher at LT, he would be unstoppable with Silverback as his LT.

Hell yes this! I am all in on Trent Williams. Get that ER with the first pick, get the WR with the second (or FA) and CB or C in the third and go from there.

Starting to dig the idea of Jimmy Graham. This team would be incredible.
