Nzoner's Game Room>So it’s really just the Steelers [or Bills] right?
RunKC 09:41 PM 09-28-2020
I mean goddamn this conference seems wrapped up doesn’t it? Not trying to jinx us but it really seems like injuries are our biggest opponent at this point.

The Ravens are fucking frauds. They’re a warm up for us. We literally made these guys look like the JV squad the last 2 meetings.

And sure the Bills and Titans may make us work for the win, but in all honesty we have to play pretty goddamn shitty to lose to those guys.

In order to have any shot at beating us you need 3 things:

1. Elite pass rush
2. Top 10 QB capable of making critical plays
3. Overall talented roster

Steelers are the only team in the AFC that has those 3 things, and even them it’s not like they’re some serious threat like the Patriots a couple years back, but they seem like the best of the rest.

I think at this point it would be disappointing for this team to not get to the SB 3 straight times.

We’re just that good, and we keep drafting well and get better and better.

No, if they lose to the WFC, Chiefs can drop the game to the Saints without losing any standing.

Alex Smith, Antonio Gibson, and Terry McLaurin can pull it off.

Hell, if Kyle Orton, Jackie Battle, and Steve Breaston can beat prime Aaron Rodgers....
Agreed.

Fuck it, meant to call my shot yesterday but calling it today:

The Football Team will beat the Steelers.

Steelers will finish no better than 14-2. They’ve been very fortunate in several of their wins. That isn’t sustainable, especially when they’ve lost a few key players and their offense is 22nd in Total Offense.

They’re 6th in Scoring Offense, but that’s clearly predicated on turnovers and field position given how low they rank in Yardage.

The Steelers are very much like an old Chiefs team. They won’t get the turnovers in the postseason against good teams, and their offense won’t be able to sustain drives.

The Steelers are the 2015 Chiefs, but with better luck at the beginning of the season.

That Chiefs team was the 6th worst in Total Offense, but the 9 best in Scoring Offense. Takeaways and Field Position were our best offense. That isn’t sustainable in the postseason, as we saw against New England.

Concur.

Relying on your defense to generate points via turnovers and sacks, etc., is unreliable at best. We've seen that with the Chiefs over the last 3 decades. And you play the best teams in the playoffs, so they won't turn the ball over that much to begin with. Never mind that Mahomes just doesn't turn the ball much at all in the playoffs.

Add in just how inefficient PIT is at scoring (especially early in games), the fact that they've only scored more than 29 points twice this season (avg about 24/gm), and PIT just hasn't performed well enough to stay in a game with the Chiefs.

Unless they don't lose another game because then they win straight up with a better record.

Who are they going to lose to? There's only 6 games left.

Every team on their schedule with the exception of CIN has potential.

I just don't see it.

Despite their record, Cleveland is Cleveland. Plus it's Pittsburgh. They're going to pound the Browns like they always do.

The best teams left are the Bills and the Colts. The Bills are erratic and I'm not sure Josh Allen can beat that defense.

The Colts have Rivers. Nuff said.

Washington, Buffalo, Indy, and Cleveland can all be losses. All of those teams are very much in the playoff hunt.

Steelers have squeaked by a few non-playoff teams: Broncos, Texans, and Cowboys.

True...but the Steelers have games against the Bills, Colts, and Browns.

KC could still drop a game somewhere...and their toughest opponent is from the NFC.

The Bills game is the most important...KC would own the similar opponent tie-breaker.

They're not going to lose to the WFT. They can't generate any offense.

They already DESTROYED Cleveland. It's Cleveland and it's Pittsburgh. Cleveland is not winning that game.

Which leaves Buffalo and Indy. Indy has Rivers. Buffalo is the only real chance at a loss. Just being realistic.

Steelers could lose to any team on their schedule other than Cincy. Period.

I agree that the Steelers should win those games, but watching them yesterday combined with the Dupree news make me feel like they drop a couple anyways.

They struggled with Gilbert, Driskel, and RG3. They can lose to anybody except the Bengals.

They will struggle with any team that has a legit passer. Allen, and Rivers will feast
