Nzoner's Game Room>2019 Free agency Thread
O.city 03:24 PM 02-05-2019
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

You'd have Hitchens - Brown - Wilson in the base package and then you could use Hitchens, Brown or DOD in the sub-packages.

And that's without drafting anyone. It won't make our LB group elite by any means but it gets Ragland the **** off the field.
id be fine with him getting limited snaps again to learn more

I am still amazed that Nate Taylor is saying that as of right now Hitchens is the WLB, Ragland is the MLB and Wilson is the SLB.
I thought that DOD would be the WLB and Hitchens would be the MLB.

If i were a betting man the LB group will look completely different than we think right now, with Hitchens being the only starting hold over.

I've told you a million times Hitchen in Dallas was a WLB, that is where he was best at.

Sean Lee/Jaylon Smith played MLB. Hitchens one problem with MLB is he is not very good at shedding OL blocks.

Easy to say when you're still making money off the fucking Chiefs.

Thoughts on new Chiefs DE Alex Okafor’s deal:

•It’s a 3-year deal for $18m, with $8.8m guaranteed.

•Chiefs can cut him by third day of 2020 league year & save $5m in ‘20 as long as Okafor doesn’t get hurt.

•If he is injured then $2m of $4.7m ‘20 base will count.

We're in trouble if those guys are our starters this season.

They won't be. I refuse to believe it.

Dallas wanted to play him at WLB but he always played MLB, mainly because of injuries, even over Jaylon Smith his last year in Dallas.

Wrong,

Considering I'm in Dallas TV market I had to watch them on TV while I streamed Chiefs. And he DID NOT play MLB while Sean Lee and Jaylon were healthy.

One thing I'm worried about with Hitchens is he played alongside 2 pretty good linebackers. He was absolutely horrible last year in KC.

I hope we're not dealing with a Ryan Sims situation where teammates made him look better than he really is

I've been wondering why the Chiefs haven't brought Brown in for a look, only reason I can think of is maybe where there're going in the draft.

I expect the LB group to be the worst one on the defense but I am fully expecting probably a 2nd round pick at the position.
