So what? Why would any AFC team want him to be on the Ravens? I thought this was a business? You don't willfully make opposing teams stronger.

Having worked with Spags before seems like a good thing to me. If he liked him then more likely to show up and less learning time, things change but not that drastically. Spags will also know his specific strengths and how to use. Spags/Veach wouldn't have put in a claim if they didn't think he could/would fit in but it works out great to block him from going back to the Ravens.
