I think so.
I'd be a little wary of putting a lot of stock in the 40 time, though - guy has giraffe legs. He can probably haul ass in the open field but he's gonna take a little more time to get there.
Gray has really developed a fair bit in that TE2 role so he won't be super easy to knock out. And Smith has a ton of talent, so he's likely to be the first guy to get a shot at TE2 if Gray falters a bit.
It's going to be a TOUGH sledding for Wiley to get into that spot. But it's doable. He just needs to learn to get down behind his pads a little bit and get that center of gravity lower to help him move a little better in smaller spaces. [Reply]

It's not the movement skills - it's that he attacks the ball with his hands. He's a real natural hands catcher.
I wonder if that's not fooling a few others as well. "He looks like Kelce and I can't quite figure out why..."
Watch the clips with that in mind and I think that may be what you're seeing.
He really snatches the ball out of the air. He doesn't wait for it to hit his hands or body his hands and arms are actively moving to the ball. Could be a contested catch monster in the red zone with his size and hands. [Reply]

I don't want to get my hopes up. The playbook is a lot to digest. If he got some red zone packages and improved on his blocking a little that would be a win and enough to project him to TE2 in year 2. [Reply]
