“From source: If conference can pass updated safety measures and procedures, Big Ten targeting Oct. 10 to start football season.” - Dan Patrick
This came after the president met with B1G commish Kevin Warren. Warren's son plays for Mississippi St and they will be playing in September.
Also:
TV partners have already green-lighted any decision that B1G presidents and Kevin Warren decide on, but bigger networks Fox Sports and ESPN/ABC are also pushing for October start, per source.
Big Ten will only get partial TV revenue if they delay until Thanksgiving or later. [Reply]

Yeah glad there could be college football during the fall but at the same time Frostys team is .500 at best.
Now had this season been delayed til next year his offense was going to have 10 projected starters on offense that were 4* guys and the defense would be average.
Gonna be alot of pressure when he goes 4-6 or 5-5 this year if they play. [Reply]

Perhaps, but it won't be anything meaningful. Schools aren't going to have buyout money for a long while unless boosters commit to it and extra to the school.
Read something a little while ago that the Big 10 was counting on the ACC cancelling as well but Notre Dame made them change their mind and in turn they left the Big 10 high and dry. [Reply]
