Agree. He definitely fits that hybrid 3rd S/WLB role well.

He'd be an ideal Sorensen upgrade.

I guess if we went this route, they'd sign someone like Jason Peters to hold down the fort until Fisher gets back and start Niang at RT.

If those things happen, this draft is pretty killer.

KC
51.

Terrace Marshall Jr.
WR LSU
Sammy who?
KC
63.

Rashad Weaver
EDGE Pitt
KC
Should be a solid LDE with plus pass rush capability. Spags prototype.
74.

Creed Humphrey
OC Oklahoma
Best interior lineman in the draft probably. Day one upgrade.
KC
86.

Joe Tryon
EDGE Washington
pass rush specialist in '21; Clark replacement down the road.
KC
136.

Austin Watkins
WR UAB
Another guy with similar skillset/physicality to Watkins
KC
144.

Divine Deablo
S Virginia Tech
Big, physical safety to finally upgrade the DD spot in this defense.
KC
147.

Paulson Adebo
CB Stanford
Spags prototype length and athleticism.
KC
176.

Jaylon Moore
OT Western Michigan
Is he a LT at this level? Probably not. Should be a good OG with the potential to play outside later.
KC
180.

Tre McKitty
TE Georgia
Really good receiver, decent blocker. A weapon to pair with Kelce/insurance policy.
KC
256.

Kayode Awosika
OT Buffalo
Reid likes to take college OT's and move them to guard. That's likely what happens here.
Tryon at 86? Hmm. I've been putting him in 2 and am severely 2nd guessing that and am thinking he's a guy in play at 31. I have serious issues with their rankings on this site as it is, but this one seems WAY off.

I use the PFN mock mostly.

They update their player rankings pretty frequently.

Tryon at his current weight is a pass rush specialist or 3-4 OLB. I think a year in an NFL training room could pay off and he could be a 260lb. DE on the right side.

So half the NFL will be devaluing him as an every down player. The other half probably see him as a contributor early, but a project as an every down guy.

He was listed at 262 and looks it. I don't think so.

Make it one of the many things they are consistently wrong about. :-)

Perkins played at 247. Tryon is a couple of inches taller, with longer arms and a thicker lower half.

No way he's 251.

well, I'd definitely be skeptical of their player rankings then, if they can't even get people's weight right.

this is going to be a really weird draft anyway, no matter what.

No real combine; work-out warriors that usually rise after won't. It'll be all about 2019 production and some 2020, and projections.

Weird.

We should do well.

Speaking of Perkins, man am I really, really high on that kid. Might be my favorite DE prospect within our range. He's a little small but he's so explosive and generates so much pressure.

Went in with the Assumption that the Chiefs bring in a legit #2 Receiver in Free Agency like an Allen Robinson (please) or a Cory Davis.

At 31 Cincinnati calls and offers 38 and 69 for 31 and 136. Still some guys on the board that I really like but feel this is a pretty big value for 31. (The Bengals took Teven Jenkins)

KC
38.
Jaelan Phillips
EDGE Miami (FL)
trade icon

Jaelan Phillips is somehow still available and at 38 I have to take him. A legit pass rusher to improve the DL. I know OL is the big need, but you usually can't find legit pass rushers any later in the draft. KC should jump all over this.

KC
63.

Landon Dickerson
OC Alabama

At 63 another player is somehow available and it is Landon Dickerson. This is my favorite IOL in the entire draft and the Chiefs should be ecstatic to get him this early. I don't think it will happen though. I would spend 31 on this guy, I think from day one this is Pat's center for 10 Years.

KC
69.

Liam Eichenberg
OT Notre Dame
trade icon

At 69 I have some nice options and really like how the board is falling. I think really hard about Tylan Wallace because I love the player, but ultimately decide I want to take an OT. We've mitigated the need for WR a little bit with FA. At Tackle I have to choose between Eichenburg, Radunz and S. Brown. I choose Eichenburg, because he is probably the most ready to play today given the uncertainty at OT and has some versatility.

KC
94.

Tommy Tremble
TE Notre Dame
KC

This is probably my favorite pick. At 94 I go TE. Not a huge need but love the value of the player. I like the WR's available and do think really hard about Stevenson but can't pass up Tommy Tremble this late on the board. Tremble comes in right away and really improves the versatility of the offense. Kelce is already the best TE in the game but now with Tremble it is easily the best TE room in the NFL.

144.

Paulson Adebo
CB Stanford

At the end of the 4th round I take the best available CB hoping to strike gold again like last year. At this spot I like the value who can hopefully be a day 1 outside corner for us if we don't bring back Breeland. I do strongly consider Caden Sterns here as well just to bring in another safety if we don't bring back Sorenson. But ultimately went corner. Like last year I like this spot to bring in quality and experienced DB's.

KC
176.

Jaylon Moore
OT Western Michigan

Here in the 5th I go with another OL in Jaylon Moore. Make it 3 OL drafted to inject that position with talent. I like Jaylon Moore here as a good experienced player to have in the room. Hopefully a 5th round rookie doesn't have to start day 1 but I like the player here as a developmental tackle.

KC
180.

Anthony Schwartz
WR Auburn

I know that speedy slot receiver isn't the need, but after bringing in an X receiver in FA, I can't pass up the speed and athleticism here this late.

KC
256.

Grant Stuard
LB Houston

At 256 I take the highest LB left on the board. I have my doubts KC will even pick here come May.

With this draft I have successfully improved the lines of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, which should be goal #1 of this offseason. At 38 and 63 alone I believe i've brought in 2 guys that on Day 1 drastically improve the line of scrimmage. I don't know that KC is going to get an offer like that for 31 and I'm not sure some of the players will fall to where they did, but I love the haul of players we bring in.

Starting OL Week 1 Eichenburg-Allegretti-Dickerson-LDT-Niang. That is an absolutely improved group over last year from a talent perspective.
