Washington DC and The Holy Land>Democrats pushing state by state for third trimester abortions
Taco John 08:28 PM 01-29-2019

Heartbreaking... This isn't in New York, this isn't in California, this happened just this week right here in Virginia. @VAHouseDems proposed legislation to provide abortions up to just seconds before that precious child takes their first breath. Watch for yourself. pic.twitter.com/AxgPVyI6kU

There's going to be an opposite reaction. There has to be. The pendulum is swinging too far and i will not believe the that the citizens of the U.S will tolerate this, dem or republican.
It'll happen because the normal citizens will get drowned out by the people who scream that "a woman should be able to do whatever she wants with her body".....which apparently is to include murder.

"Elections have consequences..."

Supporting infanticide to own Trump.

Incredible.

This is just one of the extremist views that the far left (which is rapidly becoming the mainstream) of the Democratic Party that is going to come back to haunt them.

I simply do not believe that the majority of Americans will agree with or condone this extremism. Socialism being another.

If they continue to pursue these platforms over the next 22 months, then I believe that they will fall hard during the 2020 elections.

And unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately as the case may be, I also believe that they are too stupid to realize that. And the silent majority will once again be heard.

As someone who is adopted, it is news like this that makes me love my birth mother evermore. I’ve never met her, know nothing about her, but thank her for choosing life.

Why can humans not fathom that a potential consequence of sexual intercourse is pregnancy? Let alone, why is it treated as so heinous? Worse things can occur other than pregnancy, like ummm AIDS.

Abortion is the most vain, selfish act humans are capable of.

Maybe that's what needs to happen.

Sure would be nice if the Republicans hadn't given their banner to one of the most easily despised figures in American political history.

It took a lot of bullshit to get Trump; there's really no other time in our history he could've been elected. But Trump may be just the kind of counter-garbage that drops a steaming shit sandwich like Kamala Harris in our lap.

Seriously - he'll struggle to hold the rust belt right this very second and without at least one of those 3 states he snagged last election, he'll lose. And that's even if he holds every other state. And that's with a thriving economy and no major foreign policy problems on his plate - where is the room for his gains?

The cartoon characters have taken over the landscape on both sides and I just don't know how you put adults in the room to take it back.

Based on the restrictions removed in this law there would literally be no way to prevent an abortion at any time prior to the child actually crowning. The reason the crowning would be a termination point is that partial birth abortions are still federally prohibited so once they crown, game over.

But prior to that, even if the grounds are clearly pretextual, there will absolutely be go-to physicians that will be all to willing to determine them sufficient.

It's truly awful.
I thought the Ds passed partial-birth abortion years ago?

As an aside from your post, the SC under RvW allowed the states to determine what month abortions could be halted. The entire matter is supposed to be left up to the states. What the right needs to do, is work at that level to prevent abortion up to the 9th month.

The Democrats are doing a LOT of work changing things at the state level. Soros has financed a lot of the liberal activists for AGs in some states because no one really puts big money into those positions.

This touched my emotions today. Thank you.

Casey is the controlling law, not Roe v. Wade and Casey has clear constraints on the states. They're pretty straightforward.

And no, Partial Birth Abortion was banned in 2003.

The work that Democrats are doing at the state level right now is in preparation for a potential reversal of Roe and its progeny. Ultimately I have no problem with that and fully expected it; said as much in response to the idiots that said that Trump was going to have abortion outlawed. He can't.

My problem is that those states are going WAY beyond the pale here and showing their true colors. I mean this is an attempt to legalize the kinds of things that Kermit Gosnell went to jail over. It's pretty remarkable.

Give them an inch and a mile is taken, i'm not surprised but their are consequences to letting this happen. Pandora's box cannot be closed.

I haven't read this thread, so this may be repetitive, but I'll toss this out there. How about post-birth abortion being taken seriously in Virginia?

This is absolutely true, this process needs some kind of revision.

I think it's time for Democrats to stand up to this insanity if they have any sort of principles at all.

In liberal utopias like New York you can't give a murderer a lethal injection, but you can give one to a full-term baby.

Yeah, and they should be charged with murder if they do that.
