I'm sure that's tasty and all, but that looks like a couple of clogged arteries to me. No thanks.

Same here. Mom made it as a snack when I was growing up. Haven't had it as adult.

Those crackers are good, too. Certainly if you put candied bacon on 'em!

Arby's takes a stab at venison sandwiches in select locations

Fast-food chain Arby’s will begin testing venison sandwiches in select markets by the end of the month, the company announced Tuesday.

Arby's venison sandwich features a thick-cut venison steak and crispy onions with a berry sauce on a toasted roll, according to the company.

The venison sandwich is "100% deer meat," with premium cut top and bottom round steaks from the hind quarter of the deer, according to Rob Lynch, Arby’s Brand President & Chief Marketing Officer.

Lynch said the company released the sandwich as part of “It’s Meats Season” campaign, which celebrates the start of hunting season.

"Bringing venison to our menu also allows us to continue to set ourselves apart from the competition when it comes to proteins," he said. "You simply can’t find this at other restaurant chains."

The new sandwich will be offered for a limited time at 17 Arby’s restaurants across the country. According to the company, the locations were chosen in heavy deer hunting areas in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Georgia.

Lynch said the company sources free-range farmed deer that feed on fresh grass, and he is confident that " deer hunters are going to love this sandwich."

Oh geez, I meant to post an image of their new fijaita flatbreads, and this news just blows it out of the water

Anyone remember the last major chain to feature a mammal other than cow, pig or chicken? Ted opened a few buffalo restaurants, but even those were sit-down affairs. I'm sure there's plenty of alligator [albeit reptile] on the menu in LA and FL, but not nationwide.

That's an oldie but a goodie for sure! That brings back tons of memories of having Campbell's chicken noodle soup or Lipton's Noodle Soup with the Saltines with butter and jelly.

:-):-)

A beer and a burger (which I eat about 4 times a year) would be much less crappy for you than a pile of noodles, cream, cheese, etc. The amount of bad fat grams in that is probably very high. Not a big deal if you eat like that once a week or something. If you are eating that type of stuff three or four times a week, that's not good.
