We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

Ford had a speed rush atleast. Speaks had...maybe a bull rush? I dunno.

Admittedly you didn't like Ford, now you're hopeful that's the development curve Speaks takes? Seems off.

That's fine, I feel that way as well.

Just on a baseline of ability though, I dunno. Hopefully the scheme change and a full offseason help him.

I'm just not sure what his actual ceiling would be? A good solid 43 DE?

well shit, just got caught back up on things and see Amos went to the Pack... for not a killer deal, too. I'd have taken him over Tyrann... Not even considering the salary disparity. Aw well... That's disappointing.

I didn't like Ford's injury history. I didn't have anything against Ford himself.

I definitely had a problem with the way this board (in general, not speaking in specifics) flip flopped about him as if one great season suddenly erases his entire past.

I'm not EXPECTING anything out os speaks. But I am expecting people to be as fair (and lenient) to Speaks as they were to Dee Ford.

If he averages 6 sacks a year for 4 years, he's Trey Flowers, who just got paid. There's value in "good" and "solid".

In fact, I take good and solid over streaky any day.

So youre saying here, fans were ready to run Ford off after 4 years, then 1 elite year they liked him is being lenient to Ford?

People here hated Ford until he showed a good year. I'd imagine that's pretty normal.
