Nzoner's Game Room>Glazer: Chiefs expect Mahomes to play in AFCCG
pugsnotdrugs19 09:10 PM 01-17-2021
Just now on FOX postgame.

Said the reason he was real woozy getting up was they thought he got choked out to some extent by the LB..

But sounded very confident he was going to be good for this week. Also said Mahomes was trying to go back into the game today.

More concerned about his foot than his availability for the AFCCG due to head injury.

If you look at the play he never really got hit in the head so it makes sense.

My brother and I said the same thing after watching it. He didnt hit his head it looked more like he got choked out.

Think it was a toe.

Wouldn’t expect it to be an issue. Not playing the rest of the game probably helped.

Didn't look like his toe was bothering him on his run to the locker room

This is good news, but not unexpected. From what I see, Mahomes cleared the second stage when he ran off the field:

"2. Under direct oversight of the team’s medical staff, the player should begin graduated cardiovascular exercise and may also engage in dynamic stretching and balance training."

There will be immense pressure from the league, from the chiefs, from Mahomes himself, on that independent evaluator to clear him.

There’s just no way he gets ruled out. Something would have to be seriously wrong for that to happen.

Just hope no ligament damage under that big toe. Strange injury. Need his full mobility. If not serious you'd think he should be okay by next week. I'd think they could numb that sucker up as well if needed.

Wonder if he can get cleared to practice by mid week. Don’t see it being bad for him to have a couple days off for the foot.

Gay, CEH and Hammy Watkins should be back too.

It makes sense. He wasn't hit in the head so a concussion is unlikely. Even Whitlock mentioned this on his tweet. Beeing woozy does not equal concussion. Getting hit in the head = concussion. I am more concerned about his toe as it would limit his mobility. We really need CEH back for this game.
