Or is it that there is some potential for the new virus to possibly move from humans to snakes?

Reads more like the later wher the gene sequencing suggests the virus could be carried by snakes.

Yes, sounds like they speculate the virus could go through snakes as a vector but no mention of it being actually found in anything but people so far. bein a Novel virus, the behavior of it can only be projected or guessed until it actually moves from humans

Media love stuff like sickness that moves from scary bats or icky snakes.
