What are the bar and restaurant restrictions in KC before the roll back?

From mid November to a few weeks ago it was half or under 50 people capacity, last call ~9:15 everyone GTFO 10:00. Then it became Everyone GTFO at Midnight but eventually understood as last call 11:59 and you had 31 minutes to GTFO.

Ah ok, they just increased restaurants and bars to 35% capacity and close at midnight. But you can’t actually sit at the bar. It was 25% here (NJ). This is all a good sign as we head into spring and summer.

Bar seating is hit or miss. I haven't been to Kelly's since the summer but I feel like they weren't allowing people at the bar top. Other bars don't give a fuck.

What's going on with the J&J vaccine? Wasn't that supposed to be approved about now?

Hey no rush, not like there's a deadly pandemic or anything https://t.co/ZTFLLEux4n

That was a thing in KC early on, but I don't think its an official restriction - 95% of bars here have bar seating, even those that have been given a warning by Health & Human Services.

Not near as effective but definitely better than not being vaccinated.

Long but great read on Covid vaccination and some history looking back on Measles and peoples attitudes

The new age of misinformation and social media fear mongering is certainly an area for concern

Bars and restaurants reopened for indoor dining here in September. Some bars here have tables at the bar 6 ft apart. You can’t face the bar or put anything on it but it makes the bartenders job easier. The alcoholic beverage commission came out and started threatening $10,000.00 fines for non compliance and the tables were moved away from the bar. But you have to remember that my tiny little shithole state of NJ has 9 million people shoved into it. That’s the combined population of Kansas and Missouri.

Which is why no doubt it's taking longer to scrutinize. Seems to be a few more question marks than Moderna. I suspect jnj vaccine will be important for harder to access and lower income communities. Because it's cheaper, way way easier to store. And many of these people are hesitant so convincing them to take one vaccine will be way easier than convincing them to take 2.

Public health people have known for decades that a narrative of shame and panic and hopelessness doesn’t work. Yet it’s been the dominant one throughout Covid. Why? https://t.co/7VVTKSM3vB

I haven't seen much calm rational discussion. There has been no consistent plan on any level. When government shoots from the hip people lose faith. I don't want to cross any lines but it's both sides of the isle from the Feds to the local mayors.
