Not so much that but the lack of legality in quarantines. For example: my Son's school can say he has to quarantine for 14 days when really are they are saying is they will refuse him access for 14 days. They cannot legally make him stay at home.

I'm not sure how you see that as as metric for "seriousness" of the virus at all. I mean, you're going to see what you want to see, but it probably shouldn't be THAT.

So we were around someone last friday and saturday who tested positive today. No symptoms has to test for her job.

Am I supposed to quarantine in that situation?

How long were you around them? Like in passing or having dinner in a closed setting?

If you were around them for longer than 15 minutes, then yes.

Called health department.

She said since I was around them before the 48 hour window, I was ok. She tested Tuesday as long as I wasn't around her Sunday or MOnday, I was ok.

I saw her Friday evening and Monday morning.

That makes no sense. Just because she tested Tuesday does not mean she wasn't infected prior. You are most contagious 2 days prior to showing symptoms. I know she doesn't have any but still...I am surprised they said that but that's good for you.

She’s tested every Tuesday was negative last week and positive this week.

Called health dept again to confirm and was told same thing

Even with that, I would try to limit my interactions with other people unless absolutely necessary for a few days. I work from home so it's not really a big deal for me personally but I can see how that could affect others differently. You don't want to start feeling sick in a few days and then potentially be responsible for others getting sick.
