Nzoner's Game Room>Jalen Ramsey to the Rams
Dante84 05:43 PM 10-15-2019

It’s happening: Former Jaguars’ CB Jalen Ramsey is being traded to the LA Rams for two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021, and a fourth-round pick in 2021, source tells ESPN.

I'm not seeing it for the Rams, I think Seattle is just a better team and I think the Niners are on the right track. That said, the Rams are selling out to compete for a championship and all they have to do is make it to the playoffs and then it's a whole new season...

The Rams big problem is they have a lot of $$$ tied up in Gurley who may never be the same player again and Goff who looks like an average QB without having Gurley at a superstar level.

Rams are the 3rd best team in that division now. The 49ers just clapped them at home.

This was an incredibly stupid move that will ensure that they won’t win that division for awhile.

Ramsey trade to #Rams:

-Distant contestants were #Eagles, #Ravens, #Saints. All had talks with #Jaguars in Sept.

-Shad Khan wanted to keep Ramsey to the end, but was painted into a corner between Ramsey/Coughlin.

-Trade doesn’t mean Coughlin is safe.https://t.co/lrXd9LtobR

#Chiefs were in a bad spot in terms of what the #Jaguars wanted. Even if KC had offered two first round picks, the Rams picks would have been perceived to be a “safer” bet in terms of where they could eventually land. Chiefs had zero control over how their picks were perceived. https://t.co/C1D05eXU91

Yeah there's no way we should give up that many draft picks at this stage. Even if we did no one is going to believe they're going to be high picks as long as we have Mahomes.

If it was the one thing that would make this a world beater Defense you might be able to make a trade like this, but I'd rather have the two firsts.

Rams are setting themselves up for a precipitous fall:

“Next year, the team will spend nearly 60 percent of its cap on seven players, which doesn’t include Ramsey’s fifth-year option or potential extension.”

I like what the Rams are doing, just because it makes the league more interesting.

I like the novel approach of thinking high priced known commodities are better than low priced end of the first round draft picks.

Short term, it seems like a good trade-off. Long term (even 2-3 years down the line) seems like a cap nightmare and a bigger age issue in 4-5 years.

I agree, the only thing that I can figure is that they assume the cap jump is going to be even bigger than predictions due to legalized gambling. They are betting on the come in a big way...
