Oh, you know, the fact that he and the rest of the defense struggled while getting their shit together in a new scheme...obviously HB was dogging it and not playing hard...then one day, he woke up and decided "I'm gonna stop sucking!":-)

Mathieu has been playing as much corner as safety.

His versatility and intelligence are HUGE.


One of the things I was big on this past offseason was that they were seeking versatile players. Who's doing what pre-snap? You don't really know for sure. That's a really good way to be confusing to opposing QB's.

We do it on the line. We do it in the LB corps somewhat, although we're more limited skillset-wise. We certainly do it in the secondary, where it's paying huge dividends.

Mathieu is having a heck of a year. He was outstanding yesterday.

Chief Fan appears to know a lot about football until they're asked for actual evidence. Then **** gets really anecdotal.
