Media Center>Game of Thrones Seasons 7-8
keg in kc 02:23 PM 05-24-2017
About to hit the 5000 post mark on the old thread, the first season 7 trailer today seems like the right time to start the final Game of Thones thread.

I'm going back to the original rules pre-2015. I don't think we need supervision or bannings. Just don't be a dick. Post anything you find online that hasn't aired yet inside of spoiler tags. That's pretty much it. I think we can all handle that...

For future us, 2015 thread is here: Link

Greatest show in the history of television. Sorry to see it come to an end.

Pretty impressive. Last week's episode is giving the Sand Snakes a run for their money.

Didn't GRRM quit writing for the show around season 5?

If so that's 5 episodes under 90% with GRRM and 14 without him. Wow.

Some major spoilers at this site. If I were a betting man, this is exactly how I think it will end.

That's kind of a shame. It's not Sapochnik's fault that the last season is impossibly rushed to give it the proper sendoff it deserves, or that people can't get over having to adjust their HDTV's for a battle with zombies that takes place at night. I think he did a fantastic job with the battle, and the score was amazing.

I haven't enjoyed this season as much as I feel I would have if they weren't constrained by time to finish the story, but I also don't feel like we've fallen to Snad Snek territory, either. Those were dry ass episodes.

This is better than some other spoilers I’ve seen.

:-) Most of season 7 was Jon panicking about the threat the Night King posed. Even spent the last 2 episodes trying to convince Cersei to send help up north, losing a dragon for no good reason in the process.

In the end, it took 1 night and the death count was a handful of main characters and half of the fodder that Daenerys calls her army. Super scary threat, indeed.

There's actual logic in most of what happens according to that post. That's why they're fake.

The fact that Episode 2 is not rated higher than episode 1 shows the flaw in the metric. Episode 1 was basically nothing while episode 2 was really solid.

Eh, I think it just shows that the show has so many fans that there are significant differences in what they're into. Some people (including some in this thread) hated episode 2 because it was so slow. (I'm not one of them for the record - I thought it was one of the strongest in quite some time.)

I guess I should pay closer attention. I thought virtually everyone loved the episode.

I’m leaning towards Varys, the Iron bank and the Golden company conspiring to get Danerys and Cersi out of the way and put Jon on the throne.
