About to hit the 5000 post mark on the old thread, the first season 7 trailer today seems like the right time to start the final Game of Thones thread.
I'm going back to the original rules pre-2015. I don't think we need supervision or bannings. Just don't be a dick. Post anything you find online that hasn't aired yet inside of spoiler tags. That's pretty much it. I think we can all handle that...
Lot to process there. We all knew NK was getting one. And the battle was beatiful. They have spent the GDP of a small county on those dragons. St least they're not biffing it. Yeah the writing isn't as sharp but they're doing work.

I am 1,000,000% sure GRRM will/is changing it for the sake of changing it. It was supposed to be out before S6 FFS. He's changing it so it can be "different" than the show and he can show off how much better he is.

Here is an update on GRRM's Live Journal - Not A Blog to address "Winds of Winter" and his material on Targaryen kings history which has been completed. Could "Fire and Blood" become a new GoT spinoff on HBO?

I don't know which story is more absurd, the one that says the book is finished and I've been sitting on it for some nefarious reason, or the one that says I have no pages. Both 'reports' are equally false and equally moronic. I am still working on it, I am still months away (how many? good question), I still have good days and bad days, and that's all I care to say. Whether WINDS or the first volume of FIRE AND BLOOD will be the first to hit the bookstores is hard to say at this juncture, but I do think you will have a Westeros book from me in 2018... and who knows, maybe two. A boy can dream...

Do you remember when the Three-eyed Raven told Bran that he will never walk again but he would fly? Is it possible that Bran wargs into the ice dragon and turns on the Night King?
If Bran could do that, would it be possible for him to turn the dragon back from the dead to the living - like happily ever after? [Reply]

If the whole ASOIAF plotline is an allegory to global warming, then I think a Bran as the Night King things makes sense in that he draws attention to a huge problem that humanly powers don't recognize / fail to do anything about and forces them to unite to address the problem. [Reply]

I agree, but the way Jon was about to get it, then Benjen shows up with a horse, then takes as much time as it would take to get on the horse to say "there's no time" before Jon rides off and Benjen is swamped by undead was really bad. I know he's not a main character on the show, but there would have been a whole episode about Benjen rescuing Jon and then imparting some important piece of info to him over a campfire. [Reply]

While it wasn't interesting to watch, I thought the convo between Tyrion and Daenerys was interesting. In a rushed season, they sure spent a lot of time talking about a successor. Then she brings up her inability to have children again to Jon and Jorah telling Jon that Longclaw will serve him and his children well for centuries. Seemed like some bread crumbs getting laid.
