Considering what dudes leg looks like and how much is gone, him playing is such a shitty idea, he may end up with an amputation.

Alex Smith has nothing to prove on or off the field kudos for keeping a dream alive but I think it's damn near malpractice or unethical for a doctor to let him play but I'm no doctor.

I wonder if he would better off in the booth with Joe Theisman.

For the first time since his devastating leg injury in November 2018, Washington QB Alex Smith is active.

Simply remarkable progress in his comeback. (h/t @FieldYates) pic.twitter.com/XgYmZnHKm0

Man, this is just crazy. The team can't protect him, I'd cringe every time he drops back to pass.

Well as long as Kyle Allen can make it through the game Smith will just be holding the clip board.

He needs to hang it up. There is no reason for him to keep playing. No shame in retirement for him.

I think a lot of us were already doing that before he broke his leg.

That was my thought but I have to assume everything has healed back. We don’t worry about other players who previously broke their legs but I also don’t know enough to know how Smith’s case is different. Seeing his leg with most of the flesh gone makes me think his bone is now a twig but I’m guessing that isn’t the case.

Am I the only one who actually wants to see him play? Obviously don't want to see him get hurt(I'm not Clay or SDH), but I'd love to see what he's still got.

Will always wish the best for Alex after his mentorship with the young Mahomes

:-)

Somebody gave me a down vote for that content.

Never said anything BAD about Alex Smith at all.

He's a BACKUP QB, he's going to be standing on the sideline with a clipboard for 3 hours.

But yeah, that will DEFINITELY be the most exciting thing in the NFL this week.

:-)

If he plays even a minute this season he deserves comeback player of the year.
