Smart is just not a good coach. He had a nice group of players that got him a couple high profile wins at a small school that was otherwise not noteworthy.
He’s STILL parlaying that KU win into people thinking he can coach.
And he still appears (granted from the outside) to be a pretentious douche.
Fuck that guy.
Probably some truth to that. But that's usually how coaches make a name for themselves and move up to better jobs. That KU win certainly springboarded his career. And I still can't believe KU lost that game. Epic choke job by Self. Same w/ UNI. God damn those were some good teams absolutely wasted.
The tournament is like a job fair for a lot of newbies or small school guys. Do well or knock off a powerhouse or 2 or make a Cinderella run and other bigger schools start calling.
But it's a sink or swim world. At these bigger schools it's either win or get replaced....unless you're Scott Drew. Which to be fair he wins and gets into the tourney...but my god he's wasted some Final Four talent that's passed through there :-) [Reply]

We've been close to losing the vast majority of games we've played this season, so no reason to think this will be any different (although the offense will probably be better without Udoka clogging it up). [Reply]

Vick has never been fine. He's a bad basketball player with no good attribute other than good spot shooting (which mysteriously evaporates against decent competition). He cannot create his own shot, cannot dribble, cannot pass, and cannot play defense. [Reply]
