The Chiefs have released Berry with a post-June 1 designation, a source tells me. Means the Chiefs will save around $9.5m on the cap this year and $5.5m next year.

By the end of the year it sure felt like Berry and Houston were just playing out the string. Although Houston rallied at the end of the year. But that kind of attitude is going to infect other players on the D. Players know when someone is just going through the motions and saying the right things vs. someone who is killing themselves to win a ring.
