Media Center>FYI: Yahoo Sports App Offering Free Live NFL Streaming
Fish 07:55 PM 09-26-2019
Hey all,

I've passed this along in other locations, and was surprised by how many people didn't realize it was available. The Yahoo Sports app offers free live streaming of regionally local and primetime NFL games. Which covers a lot. And you can use a location spoofer. Tested on Android mobile, Android TV, and iOS. Unfortunately it states you cannot cast this to another device. But if you have a mobile device or Android TV/etc, it's a good solution. Watching the Thursday night game on my Android TV right now...

Would this indicate to you that I would get local KC programming?

I opened the website in a private browser window, allowed location services, and got this:

I'm not sure. Is your current location local to the KC area? I don't have an account and don't sign in, but I've still gotten every game I've looked for via this app. Without doing anything regarding location services. I just noticed on their main website page that it depended on location. But like I said, I wanted to mention it because I've confirmed every Chiefs game so far has been available as well as every other game I've wanted to watch.

Here's what I currently see. The link for live PHI vs. GB works just fine on both Android phone and Android TV.

I'm 3 hours north of KC and we don't have a local pro team. Chicago is 6 hours east, Minny 4 hours north. So KC is the closest, I just don't know if it is considered "local".

I may have to download the app and try it on Sunday to see if it works. It would allow me to use one app vs. using ESPN, NFLN, etc. now, at least for the prime time games.

Give it a try. One thing I would mention in my experience, if you pause it for more that 7-10 minutes you might not be able to unpause, it will go to Live instead. But I've noticed weird inconsistent timing with that behavior, so I'm not sure about the actual limit.

Looks like I'd be fine loading it on my iPad. I have an HDMI adapter to watch it on my TV if I want.

Admittedly, I have no experience with Smart TV Android versions. Sorry. I'd be happy to provide you with the .apk file if you can download and sideload it.
