I don't think she was really hired to report breaking sports news. She was probably hired just to be around when a SJW opening presents itself. Any actual sports reporting appears to be busy work and merely social appearances.
A local paper sold out to a larger entity near the metro area. All their local sports reporting went to shit, local community events reporting and advertising went to shit, the people they send to events lack any desire and mirror Mac and Cheese's demeanor but you can bet your ass the coverage of issues that might sway a bunch of country hicks into wokeness gets plenty of coverage.
