We all have varying opinions about the impact of this, the numbers, etc. We will all never agree with each other. But we can all keep it civil.

Thanks!

Cuomo said 14.9% of those tested statewide tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies, which is up from the initial 13.9% statewide when a previous sample of 3,000 people was done on April 22. Cuomo said the 1% increase is statistically in the margin of error.

Regionally, the results suggest:

24.7% positive in New York City
15.1% positive in Westchester/Rockland
14.4% positive on Long Island
3.2% positive in the rest of the state
What’s crazy to me is that antibodies develop about 10-14 days post infection. So these people were infected in early April. That’s 3 weeks ago. If you do the math out (and these are accurate) New York City is actually inching its way towards her immunity no?

Seems like to some extent it's moved from 'don't overwhelm the hospitals' to 'save every life possible'.... obviously, it shouldn't be "well, if only 50 more people die, at least we can go to Papadeaux's again", but still.

But.... it's hard to stay the course and do the right thing when everyone is also antsy as fuck.
Oh man, I wish we had Papadeaux's in KC. :-)

A lot of local restaurants closed before the SIP orders because due to social distancing guidelines people weren't frequenting them anyway.

I would imagine people have been cooped up long enough that will change though if they are allowed to reopen under phase 1 at 50% capacities.

Shits boiling over everywhere..Still only 2 hospitalized patients in Buch County in 5 weeks of shutdown.

It is interesting to me to see all the people in the fields start ripping these tests and methods apart, yet when all the initial models were coming out they weren’t. I’m not one to cry foul but it seems odd

It certainly seems like it's far more prevalent than anyone would have originally guessed. I'm still not clear what it really means for society broadly - most areas aren't going to be anywhere near 25%, so it's not like we can just say we'll open everything up 100% and live with the consequences. But regardless, it's nice that there is a ceiling of the numbers of deaths that we can expect even if it's still a very high ceiling.

They admitted last week that weekend numbers have a lag time. So like i said you compare them to last week. They were down a third from last week which is good. But you can stop trying to instigate at this point.

I guess KU Med is reducing salaries. Sorry but this is the antithesis of what we were told was going to happen even with the mitigation.

Im not sure why you're being such a douche bag about this when it's clear that numbers go down on Sun & Mon, then Tues they go up drastically. Then you say something along the lines of "oh no look at all the deaths in the early report" and someone (usually Sauto) will say it's due to the lag in reporting over the weekend and Monday. Then you argue about it and ask for the evidence. Rinse & repeat
