One hit? Damn.

Who started Scherzer or Strasburg?

If you think there's any one single formula to winning, good luck. The Nationals had one of the worst bullpens in recent history, lost their best player to FA, and now they're playing in the World Series.

I really want to see that rotation stacked up again the Stros rotation in the World Series.

Would be a very interesting matchup. Rotations about equal if you consider that Greinke just doesn’t look to be all that great currently. Astros with a better bullpen but hardly the 14/15 Royals. Astros got the nod 1-4 in the lineup but the Nats have a better 5-9(or 8 at the NL park). I hope we get to see it.

They lost their third/fourth best position player to FA, maybe as low as their sixth most valuable overall. Rendon is just a better player than Harper, and Turner puts up more value per PA, but is more of an injury risk. Soto's average WAR to far is very close at an exceptionally young age.

Scherzer and Strasburg have also been more valuable over the last three years.

They certainly lost their marquee guy, but they didn't lose their best guy.

How do you guys feel about the ‘bullpen game‘ tonight??

Greeny posted this earlier.

When the people who run the great game of baseball try to figure out why fewer people are paying attention - they should take note of the pitching in game six of an #ALCS featuring two teams that won 100 games. This isn’t what the sport has ever been or was ever meant to be.

Doesn't matter, nobody is beating the Astros for years.

Couple injuries, which happen to every MLB team, and they'll be beatable

Astros will be a contender for the near future, but nothing lasts forever. Verlander is pushing 40. Seems like the odds are they don't resign Cole either. They'll still be good but that's a pretty huge loss. Cole has been a monster this year. Of course they do get more out of the pitchers they have than anyone. They know how to make guys pitch better.
