I warned you people already.

An apocalyptic amount of puppies are about to be Draconian'ly dealt with in an Unprecedented action during these New Normal times.

At least 'unprecedented' isn't that far out of reach in some cases, and even accurate.... hoarding toilet paper at an unprecedented rate, unprecedented shutdown/mask wearing/etc...... 1 in every 400 New Yorkers dying within a few months seems pretty unprecedented for the city.

They locked down before and for longer than just about any other state. LA County actually passed a law forcing people to wear masks when outside regardless of where they were. While states like Texas and Florida opened up sooner and were a bit more lax in their lockdown restrictions we are seeing the same results in a state that didn't do what Texas and Florida did.
The mask requirement was like 2 days ago.

And, like most of America at this point, people didn't want to follow what they were being told/asked to do.

There is no avoidance of CA, the reason people have talked about other states is because people from those states regularly post in the thread.

But takes like that are just proof that some people can only see this as a media/political issue, rather than a health issue.

AZ looking to activate FEMA. ICU bed capacity to be reached in a few days. Major hospitals here setting up beds for non COVID patients in hallways and lobbies.

Deaths will rise when care is poor too.

Can't be.. According to the medical geniuses on here the virus is completely defeated and no worse than the flu.

WTF are you talking about? LA County voted to make masks a law well over a month ago. I didn't say the entire state.

Phoenix and Tucson. Basically 6 of the 7 million in state population are centered around these cities.

You think this has anything to do with the surge going on in Mexico? I mean there is a lot of natural traffic between AZ, TX, CA and Mexico. Kind of a coinkydink that Mexico is apparently getting a bad surge and now our border states are getting it as well. It could be just that too, a coinkydink.

They’re looking to make an old, mostly unused hospital downtown, a COVID step down place. That doesn’t help ICU care, however.

It’s real here and it’s very bad.

Mostly people not giving a fuck here. Treating it like business as normal. Bars running full, normal scene. Maybe 10% masks in public. I’m sure the protesters 3 weeks ago now didn’t help and they protested for 18 days!

It is a bit ironic that we are seeing this hit people in their 20's and 30's a couple weeks after all the protests.

We've been pretty lucky here. Things are opening up a lot and I want to say we are as close to normal as we have been but we aren't seeing the surge. Yet. We had a lot of protests going on as well and still do.
