Nzoner's Game Room>The Sharing Economy: how much you sharing?
scho63 07:43 PM 02-08-2019
Today I rented a car for two days on Turo. $80.40 complete total. It's the 8th time I've done it.

I've also done AirBnB, Lime Bike, Uber, Bird Scooter.

What services have you used in this new sharing economy? :-)

Most people are 20-40 using these services and I'm nearly 56.

Ah, well that's different , when people see you in one of those they think you're cool. Well, cool and can't keep your balance.

At least one of those is accurate.

Use Airbnb for travel. Take Uber/Lyft Trips 3-4 times a month. Never had anyone ask for a tip.

There aren’t nearly enough people here to do that noise.

Closest I’ve come is drill wheat for a bunch of dudes last fall

I’m definitely into the sharing economy. I’ve shared Hepatitis C with over 50 people!

I prefer AirBnB to hotels any day of the week. I've also used Uber; some places it is much more reasonable than others. I'd be interested in Turo, but I'm not sure how the insurance works out for that......

used VRBO once and will never do it again. I check Uber from time to time and the prices are just too high for my area. I'll just not drink and keep it simple.

Check out Lyft for rides. Here it's half the price and mostly the same drivers.

Hmm? I've used Uber/Lyft a few times around here. If I'm going to some kind of event and I know I'll be tipping a few back, or to get to the local airport. Out of state on business trips, I use them all the time.

Airbnb for travel? I'm intrigued, but I haven't done it yet. I would love to hear from more people who have gone that direction and about their experiences.

Yep, that's exactly what I've found too.

I can Uber/Lyft from my house to downtown, about a 7 min drive, for $7.00 including the 20% tip. We have several entertainment districts to visit there. We can have however many libations we care to and not worry. We know what the driver looks like, their rating by others, no cash changing hands. Where exactly they are coming to pick me up. Can communicate with them or let them have my GPS location if we moved since the request. I'll never take another cab unless no Lyft's/Uber's are available.
