Though I am “sort of” getting the hang of playing franchise as an owner. I usually play a franchise as myself in various positions etc. it’s “usually” pretty fun, but this year it was bad. The game play feels totally different when playing in that way. So I gave owner mode a shot.

It’s still pretty hokey. All the finance portion of things (ticket prices, merchant, concessions etc) seems pointless. I literally lowered concessions on a few items to their lowest prices and still had negative fan feedback. (Maybe that’s just like real life lol).

I opted to not scout, as that whole ordeal seemed like unnecessary button clicking if it’s anything like Madden 18. Maybe I’m just getting older but I just don’t “want” to spend hours in a game each time I sit down. I used to love to spend hours upon hours building a team etc. now I can barely bring myself to okay more than one game in a session.

Before I run out and buy this, I'd like to know if they still require you to sign up with EA before you can do anything besides replay the super bowl

I REALLY hated that I couldnt just plug n play when I bought 2017

But if we DO still have to sign up, whats the process and how do they even know I'm signed up?

2017 wouldnt let me play anything but the super bowl, tried everything I know from many years of owning older versions

As I recall it kept telling me to 'create an account with EA' before it would unlock regular game play... I'd try to switch teams or whatever, and a gold lock would show up, followed by that message

Even just replaying the SB, I couldnt substitute or even call a freaking timeout

I had a similar issue a year or so ago.. Only could play SB.
I had to uninstall and reinstall. It was like the install never fully completed.
