We all have varying opinions about the impact of this, the numbers, etc. We will all never agree with each other. But we can all keep it civil.

Thanks!

I don't think people quite understand the domino effect of that scenario.
:-)

Who is allowing 'mobs' of people to run the streets?

This was announced today. We tried to take Cushing to an Emergency type facility last year to save it from closing altogether. Now the Rona has forced it to be closed. Probably won't be the last closing you hear about in the KC area from Saint Luke's as well as others.

The reluctance to open up elective surgeries caused a lot of devastating to health systems in the area.

I talked to my Dad who lives down there. He said a lot are being admitted but then sent home quickly. So it is spiking the numbers but the length of stay seems to be fairly short with most. Is that what you are seeing?

Safety first......yep and I will stop there. We can have a political discussion on it in DC if you'd like.

How does that compare with the demographics of whatever "here" is (city, county, state)?

How soon after I'm infected with the new coronavirus will I start to be contagious?

The time from exposure to symptom onset (known as the incubation period) is thought to be three to 14 days, though symptoms typically appear within four or five days after exposure.

We know that a person with COVID-19 may be contagious 48 to 72 hours before starting to experience symptoms. Emerging research suggests that people may actually be most likely to spread the virus to others during the 48 hours before they start to experience symptoms.

If true, this strengthens the case for face masks, physical distancing, and contact tracing, all of which can help reduce the risk that someone who is infected but not yet contagious may unknowingly infect others.

"Results from a difference-in-differences model applied to data from a sample of US cities that gained new professional sports teams over the period 1962-2016 show that the presence of games in these cities increased local influenza mortality by between 4% and 24%, depending on sport, relative to cities with no professional sports teams and relative to mortality in those cities before a new team arrived. Influenza mortality fell in cities with teams in some years when work stoppages occurred in sports leagues."

Im literally reading hospital data from this morning. It’s on azdhs.gov. It’s current and says 58% of current hospitalizations are under 65 years old.

Indeed. But to Pete's defense, that's not what he asked. He asked about length of stay. Pete, it's probably a bit premature to be able to determine a meaningful length of stay number for this case spike.
