Media Center>I have officially watched Tombstone
EyePod 12:10 PM 02-17-2009
Can I have my Man Card back now?

I enjoyed the movie overall. A little over-the-top, but still a good flick.

What I loved:

Val Kilmer's acting. I've never seen him act better. Good stuff.

When they first went after the Cowboys, and Earp (I think) jumped through the fucking window, and then killed all the Cowboys there. That was fucking sweet.

The things that really bothered me were:

The wasted shooting on horseback, especially when you couldn't see that they were shooting at anyone. Does this happen in most Westerns?

Kurt Russel's mustache. That was just ridiculous.

The end of the movie, where Wyatt doesn't have to worry about money ever again because his bitch's family is rich, and he's perfectly OK with just mooching and getting room service from her moneys.

There certainly should be. It's the best western ever made and it's not even all that close.

I love Unforgiven, but I still have The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly at #1. For a Fistfull of Dollars is awesome too. I like John Wayne, but I prefer Clint.

And the pusssification of America continues.

I'm sending Dirty Harry over to his place of employment to kick his ass.

Tombstone is one of my all time favorites. Probably because my son watched it as many times as a Disney movie from 3-6 years old. He could recite the enitire movie. He always called it the Gun Club Movie, because my grandfather had a gun club so he related the two.

Academy Award winning best picture. Your pennance is to rent and watch it immediately. In fact, just buy it. It should be in your collection.

Ok, if it came out when you were 4, that's fine, but now that you know, you've got four weeks to rent or Netflix or whatever that movie, and then you have to report back here.

'til then, your ManCard is in danger of revocation. :-)

Seriously -- you won't regret spending the 2 hours. Trust us... If it's not the best western ever made, it's easily top 3.

I gotta agree with you, Big Jake and The Cowboys are 2 of my favorite movies of all time.
