Living in NW Indiana, Detroit is only 4 hours away. Thinking of getting a hotel close to stadium and parking at hotel and walking there. I’ve never been to Detroit. Is that area as ghetto as what I imagine Detroit being? Any tips on where to stay and what to do on a Saturday night there for a trip away with the wife? [Reply]

Slow's, Vicki's or Bert's and probably in that order. [Reply]

I must have lucked out. Booked from Thurs-Mon. Going to do the Ford Library in Ann Arbor(the museum is in Grand Rapids...strange they split it up, Truman is one stop shop - stinks because the stairwell from the fall of Saigon is at the museum). Will checkout the model T museum and Mo-Town museum. Glad the game is in September. [Reply]

Turns out I'll be at the game but a very quick in-and-out trip with my wife's entire family. Where are your seats?
And glad you're surviving Detroit. I'm disappointed I won't be able to do sight-seeing across 8 Mile. [Reply]
I was there when Marcus Allen played for the team. Had a blast! Fans were good, treated us well, we had a great time. One guy even offered me his leather jacket for my signed Joe Montana jersey. [Reply]
