Nzoner's Game Room>Kiss Alive Tour 45 years ago tonight..
MatriculatingHank 06:25 PM 03-14-2021
I saw Kiss on their "Alive" tour 45 years ago tonight in Memphis, TN.

The "Destroyer" LP was released the following day, March 15th, 1976.

Yes, I'm old.

Well, maybe 200 for lower level.

I ran across some of my stubs from the late 80s and 90s recently...Aerosmith, Van Halen, Motley Crue...around $10-15 for good seats.

And ticket stubs are a thing of the past, too. Saving the thing you print off from Ticketmaster just isn't the same. And even that is largely going away as venues just want to scan your phone.

I would loved to have seen them pre 1980. I have seen them several times since 1983. Their reunion tour in 1996 was spectacular and they were just as good if not better (sound wise) a year ago.

I think they are using some recorded tracks in their live shows these days. A lot of bands are.

Not true, man

Caught them for the last time at the Illinois State Fair like 4 years ago, and Pauls voice was straight up SHOT... I've seen them 4 times and that show was by far the worst

If they're cheating, they're doing a terrible job of it

I couldn't tell you the name of a single song of theirs. Great panache however, it seems.

Yes, as a matter of fact, Great Panache is one of their best songs

Yeah they played "Great Panache" at the opening of the Donger II Tour in 84' I think.

Donger would love their big hit "Bangers and Mash."

I bought the first KISS album short thereafter as well because I love Black Diamond. Still do to this day about 45 years later.

I think their early songs were the best. Cold Gin is also great.
Dude, "Two Timer" from DTK!

And ALL of Hotter Than Hell - Parasite, Strange Ways, Watchin' You, Goin' Blind...GREAT stuff.

I also bought Alive III on CD, very early in the CD game. Not the first I bought, but it was in the first 20 or so, so it got a lot of play. I was in elementary school at the time, so I didn't have much money. Most CDs were still $14.99-17.99 brand new, but Alive III was like $8.99 or $9.99 the week it came out at Best Buy on 39th St in Independence, so I conned my mom into taking me there, I think I got it and Anthrax Sound of White Noise that same day. Or maybe it was Attack of the Killer B's??

I don't know, but Alive III rocks - the canned crowd noose sucks but the performances are fantastic. The Eric Singer/Bruce Kulick era is underrated. I love Revenge, Alive III and Carnival of Souls. Have Carnival of Souls on vinyl.

Still need:

Alive II
Killers
Creatures of the Night
Lick It Up
Smashes Thrashes and Hits
Revenge
Alive III

On vinyl.

The car I bought from my brother while I was in HS had an 8-Track player in it. I bought Kiss’s Lick It Up on 8 Track and wore that mf’r out in my car :-).
