They're probably about the same, but the "NFL is rigged" crowd are definitely far more obnoxious. The Berry haters largely keep their bullshit to a handful of threads. Seems like every thread ends up being a ref bitch fest anymore. [Reply]

The NFL wants money. You get that through viewers and by limiting liability. It gets that through offense and the perception of less player danger. To get offense, you have to neuter the defense, which you can do by over legislating penalties so that defenders can't play tight defense. You limit liability by restricting the types of hits players can make and instituting protocols that affect the appearance of player safety.
If you want to make money, you generally don't engage in a massive form of fraud endorsed by 32 separate billionaires which results in a disproportionate amount of franchise value being heaped upon a few of said billionaires due to their success being far and away greater than others.
"Sure, Mr. Kraft, we'll let your franchise win so much that it's now worth over a billion dollars more than the median NFL franchise value!"
Billionaires sign up for those kinds of deals all the time.
Hanlon's razor pretty much cover it from my perspective:
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity [or incompetence in the case of the refs]. [Reply]

Complaining about the refs is fine (and often times deserved), but the whole idea of a big picture conspiracy is laughable.
Roger Goodell’s clown operation can’t even figure out how to get a security camera video tape, yet people think they are able to execute some sort of sophisticated/comprehensive rigging of games? [Reply]
I can see how someone could think Berry should simply be gutting it out, but the "NFL is Rigged" morons have to believe so many contradictory or ridiculous things that it takes a much higher level of stupidity. [Reply]
Interesting...the OP's need for public "witchhunting" by making a poll.
I'm sure it's lost on him.... that this is the actions of someone unsure of their own convictions. Appealing to the herd for validation does nothing but perpetuate their own ignorance.
Funny how attempting to shine the light of shame on someone ends up reflecting back on them... [Reply]
