no look the browns dont stop anyone. they are going to play zone for sure probably all game. make mahomes throw short 10-12 play drives to eat clock and try to hold them to FG's and hope they get a strip sack tipped ball Int ect.

shorten the game keep it within a score in the 4h qtr and anything can happen at that point.

Of course not. I was speaking in terms of possibility, not probability. Within the context of reality, he'll throw for 350+, maybe even 400, but that's about it.

Browns will go for broke to win. We are ll have to do the same. Mahomes will have to play hero ball and be magic like he was last year.

Sorry, not seeing how that's even possible. When CLE played TEN just a few weeks ago, CLE allowed Tannehill to throw for 390 yds and 3 TDs. Most of their TD drives were under 6 plays. TEN gifted CLE 4 fumbles, otherwise that game probably goes a different way.

Honestly, if CLE's D can't slow down Tannehill, no scratch that, if CLE's D can make Tannehill look like Mahomes or Josh Allen, you've got serious issues in your secondary.

CLE will definitely throw the kitchen sink, the water, probably the fridge at us, for certain. Whatever tricks they have, we're going to see them. But they're also going to be constricted by the plan of trying to keep the ball away from our offense. So fewer possessions. Maybe 4-5 before the half. Weather that storm, and they'll be out of tricks offensively, and it'll just be can their defense hold up in the second half.

again .....did you watch the game it was 38-7 browns at halftime prevent soft zones the whole second half just like the Steeler game. it was 2 lost fumbles and 1 int.

the browns do get turnovers they just give up tons of yards .

Take away what they like to do. Stuff the run and short passing game and dare Mayfield to get in a shootout with Mahomes.

Don't let them slow the game down.

So how does CLE get these T/Os with only Garrett as your legitimate pass-rusher? Blitz? Good luck with that.

And the Chiefs don't fumble the ball 4 times a game. And if you can't get to Mahomes consistently, he isn't throwing you the ball either. He'll just pick you apart.

And i watched a little over half of that TEN game, and Tannehill missed a bunch of wide open receivers, and still threw for almost 400 yds and 3 TDs.

It could've been worse.

I would be more concerned if Vernon was still available for CLE. At least you'd have one other legit pass-rusher. But you're talking about playing zone against maybe the best QB to ever dissect zone coverage, with three of the best receivers vs. zone.

In particular, Kelce loves zone. Give him 5 yards off the LoS and a zone; he'll drop 200 yds and 2-4 TDs on you. It'll be the best playoff game for a TE in history.

Hill is one of the best in the league vs/ zone. Watkins is a top-tier talent vs. zone.

So there's no just playing zone vs. KC. Zone without a pass-rush from your DL is going to look something like what KC did to TEN in the AFCCG last season, except TEN's secondary is more disciplined than CLE's.

that's just not going to end well for CLE.

Just doesn't add up for me.

In that game, the Chiefs mistakenly assumed that they would do it again and instead they put Agholor and Ruggs out on the edges and took the top off of KC's defense. KC just simply got out-coached.

The Raiders have also built their roster specifically to combat some of the things the Chiefs display in their own tendencies. It's part of playing twice a year.

Not likely to factor in this Sunday.
All of this and also Charvarious Ward was coming off injury and played quite possibly his worst game in 2 seasons.

Just a memo on a couple injuries for CLE:

Cornerback A.J. Green was placed on the Practice Squad/Injured list with a hamstring injury.

The Browns added cornerback Donovan Olumba to the the practice squad."
Dunn was the back-up for Bitonio(sp?) in Sunday's game, and played rather well, imo. looks like they may be down to Blake, who had his first NFL start on Sunday vs. PIT. And also had a pretty good game.

There is alot of in your post, one the thing is certain the Browns hypotheticals have a good running game, and Mayfield is inconsistent.

The Browns defense will have to pray for mistakes , because if the Chiefs offense will hang at least 34 points, and that's not including possible Kick/Punt return TDs and Mayfield messing up.
