Nzoner's Game Room>Stadium Watch 2024 -Jackson County Residents: How Are You Voting?
Pablo 08:28 AM 03-28-2024
Vote in this poll if you actually live in Jackson county.

We've all shared our opinions in the other thread. But who gives a shit what somebody in Platte County or Johnson County or Phoenix or NYC thinks. We're all just noise.

Hmm it would make the stadium the centerpiece entrance to the area.

If this all comes to pass, billions will have been spent for the Chiefs to move from the intersection of I-70 and 435 to...........the intersection of I-70 and 435.

UPDATE: I talked to the handler of the STAR Bond Proposal for the @chiefs and @royals today. He tells me the legislature is planning to take this up at their anticipated special session.

He says “overwhelming support from both sides of the aisle and from the governors office.”

Wonder if they'd consider shuttle lots from the Speedway.

It's worked beautifully for the Rockies - so well, in fact, that the owner has very little incentive to invest in the team because so many people head down to the area just to have a good time, and the game is kind of secondary. :-)
Do the Rockies ownership also own the real estate near the ballpark?

It was definitely a good choice to have Coors Field at that location, but it was a situation where the expansion franchise was awarded with the idea that games at Mile High was temporary and new park would be built.

Seems to me Royals fielding a competitive middle of the pack payroll team is better way to stay sustainable.

Montfort owns McGregor Square next door.

Games at Coors are basically free.
Train drops you off a 1/4 mile away.
Its $4 for seats with a view.
You can bring in your own food and drinks.
Theres a rooftop club standing area open to everyone that feels like a nightclub.

What MLB needs is a salary cap.

These stadium designs and locations are just guesses. I think the Woodlands area is a better spot.

That map doesn't show the new amusement park going in just west of the speedway.

Almost a guarantee. They do that in Green Bay, Dallas, some other stadiums I’ve been to. Sounds like a pain in the ass but it’s actually pretty efficient and usually cheaper than main lots.

The Chiefs are moving. It’s a done deal and not only am I fine with it, it’s also the best move for the Chiefs financially. Voting down an extension of an existing tax will look real stupid when the Truman Sports complex sits empty.

Maybe someone will see it as a great opportunity for development. :-)

Why should we have voted for it if Clark didn't want the team to be there?

The Kansas legislature fumbled the ball yesterday. It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming months.

If the city and state lose one or both of these teams, they basically deserve to be passed in relevance and as a destination by both Omaha and Des Moines.
