We've only had a week and a half of 100k plus cases a day. Your not going to see the deaths for weeks. Also due to delay of reporting. I imagine our ability bto treat individuals with Covid19 has improved but running out of ventilators and the drugs used to treat these individuals is a concern

It was for a long while. With cases and hospitalizations going back up, last I saw, deaths were ticking back up as well.

For deaths to have been what they were early with this, we had to have missed a metric ton of cases.

With the therapeutics being ok'd and vaccines, we'll be out of this thing alot sooner than later.

We've got a rough couple months ahead. Put your head down, figure out how to follow public health guidelines to the best of your ability and to your preferred level (seriously, stop with the demands. This is what will work, this won't, use caution and do what you need to do individiually) and we will get thru.

We were definitely missing the vast majority of cases. We were also putting everyone on a ventilator which we later learned wasn't best practice.

We have the tools and knowledge to treat people much more effectively now. But if we run out of staff/space none of that is going to matter

A theraputic option that can be taken at home is what we really need

That's not exactly right. In the second wave deaths peaked 7 days after cases peaked. The waves pretty much held that 7 day lag and the cases rose significantly more than deaths.

Emergency authorization has already been submitted? I thought we were still a few weeks away from that?

And I know how much you like people asking for links, but I'm not seeing any Fauci interviews from today. Who was the interview with?

If you have enough data, do it. Another week isn't gonna tell you anything you don't know now.

I agree. But they were going on about safety data and the need to wait a couple weeks yesterday. If they've been able to bypass that then great!

If places have the storage capacity, I say start shipping out the vaccine now. Have it ready to start going in arms as soon as approval is given.
