He's been fantastic. My friend in the Rangers' front office (former scout) said that he was bullish on Bubic above most of the pitchers in the middle of the 1st round and pushed hard for the Rangers to grab him with their first pick. Didn't get his way, obviously, but it was fun to get insight on how a few of their guys saw something in him that wasn't readily apparent to everyone else in their front office. Our MLB Pipeline scouting report on outfielder Dairon Blanco, one of the prospects the Royals got from Oakland for Jake Diekman, is that the former Cuban star certainly fits the Royals' profile: He is extremely fast and athletic, and is an 80-grade in terms of speed.
Not that I expect much from these types of trades, but just once I'd like one of these reports to say "solid hitter" or "some potential power." Instead, it's always "well, he's fast." Yay. [Reply]

Moore needs to nail the draft each and every year, because it seems pretty clear we're not going to be able to find much talent elsewhere. I'm not sure that's sustainable with how hit or miss draft picks are.

Maybe the Phillies are interested in Trevor Bauer because most throws from their pitchers end up over the wall anyway and he’s just cutting out the middle man
