I sit through the whole movie, comparing it with the book, and I can’t enjoy it.
Killers of the flower moon was the same way.
I hate watching movies that I have read the book.

LOTR was one of the few adaptations that were arguably better than the book. And if nothing else, were definitely something that added to the readers experience. [Reply]

Maybe…I see your point, but I devoted a lot of time reading all that shit.
Kinda like the Game of Thrones books.
They miss something, or add something and I notice it.
No big deal except to me, and I don’t count for shit.

Man, the first 5+ seasons of Game of Thrones was just perfect. Then it wasn't. [Reply]
I love the Reacher series. Just finished up the season the other day. Yeah, it's not great writing, but it is satisfying to see him (and his team) take out the bad guys. It's kind of like the 80s action hero movies. Yeah, they were lame and the writing wasn't great. But who didn't enjoy Rambo going all.....well.....Rambo? [Reply]

The books just got so repetitive. I think I read the first 4 (maybe 5) and the stories just get stale.
Maybe it's because I was reading them back to back. If I swapped to something else, then back to a Reacher book, maybe they wouldn't get to feeling so tedious.
But it was kinda like trying to binge watch Letterkenny. I love that show in small doses but if you watch three episodes in a row, you really do need a palate cleanser. [Reply]
